About Accelerated Steel Procurement

Why a.s.p.™ Exists

Accelerated Steel Procurement (a.s.p.™) was developed to address a structural flaw in project delivery: critical steel decisions made too late — and without unified authority.

On most projects, steel planning is fragmented across designers, detailers, fabricators, erectors, and procurement teams. Each performs their role. Yet without early integration, alignment occurs only after leverage is diminished.

The result is predictable: misalignment, rework, compression, and cost volatility.

a.s.p.™ was created to correct that condition.

The Insight

Steel does not fail because of effort.
It fails because of fragmentation and traditions.

The solution is not more coordination.
It is earlier governance.

When steel decisions are governed early — before buyout pressure and before assumptions harden — projects gain clarity that would otherwise be lost.

A System — Not a Service

Accelerated Steel Procurement is a structured delivery model.

a.s.p.™ integrates framing strategy, detailing logic, fabrication alignment, connection coordination, and erection sequencing and constructability into a unified early authority.

Planning runs in parallel with design development.
Material strategy is aligned before procurement constraints are applied.
Critical decisions are governed while flexibility remains.

The outcome is earlier certainty and reduced downstream disruption.

Powered by ISPA™

a.s.p.™ is powered by ISPA™ — Integrated Steel Planning Authority — Greenbrook’s internal framework for unifying steel planning disciplines under one coordinated structure.

ISPA™ aligns engineering, detailing, fabrication input, and sequencing logic into a single authoritative stream.

It is the engine behind the system.

Developed by

Accelerated Steel Procurement was developed by Greenbrook Engineering, drawing on decades of structural steel coordination and integrated project delivery experience.

The system reflects practical execution — not theory — across projects where early steel decisions materially influenced outcomes.

a.s.p.™ formalizes that discipline into a repeatable framework.

Leadership

Dan Woodworth
Director / Project Leadership / Procurement

Dan Woodworth has been an influential figure in the steel fabrication industry since 1974. Beginning his career on the shop floor, Dan developed a granular understanding of the trade that eventually led him through every major pillar of the business—from estimating and detailing to general management.

With a background in architectural drafting and decades spent running engineering departments for large-scale, well-established fabricators, Dan provides a unique bridge between design and execution. At Greenbrook Engineering, he serves as the primary advocate for the customer’s priorities. He utilizes his extensive operational history to ensure that our engineering and procurement solutions are not only technically precise but also optimized for the realities of the fabrication shop and the needs of the erector.

Roger O’Hara, PE
Technical Consultant / Senior Leadership

Roger O’Hara brings over 43 years of comprehensive experience across the design, detailing, fabrication, and erection phases of structural steel. His career trajectory is defined by a deep technical climb—beginning as a field engineer and progressing through roles as connection engineer, chief engineer, and corporate officer. This diverse background allows Roger to view every project through the lens of a design-builder, ensuring that structural integrity and field constructability are seamlessly integrated.

A registered Professional Engineer with a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Santa Clara University, Roger’s influence extends into the industry’s regulatory landscape; he has served as a committee member for the AISC Code of Standard Practice. His portfolio includes a global array of complex structures, ranging from high-rise towers and medical facilities to convention centers and hangars throughout the U.S. and Asia. At Greenbrook Engineering, Roger leverages this vast institutional knowledge to drive technical excellence and provide our clients with a sophisticated level of oversight that only four decades of high-stakes industry leadership can produce.

David Bailey
Client Relationship Manager / Project Strategy

David Bailey offers a distinguished 40-year career defined by his versatility across the design and construction sectors. With a professional history that spans architectural design, miscellaneous and structural steel detailing, and high-level plant management, David possesses an exhaustive understanding of the lifecycle of a build. This "full-spectrum" experience—from the initial drafting table to the final fabrication plant—is what enables Greenbrook Engineering to deliver outcomes that are as efficient as they are technically sound.

In his current role as Client Relationship Manager, David serves as the strategic link between our technical teams and our clients’ business objectives. He translates complex project requirements into successful, profitable results by ensuring that every phase of the process is aligned with the client's specific needs. David’s ability to draw on his past experience as a Project and Drafting Manager ensures that communication is clear, expectations are managed with precision, and every project is positioned for peak performance.
